Vonnie was born in Hughended, NQ and lived on the Atherton Tablelands as a child. From there she travelled south to find work, then overseas to find fun and adventure. After her return to Australia she settled in Sydney. In 1981 she married Hans, a Viennese artist and it was only a few short

years later on the sunny Palm Beach Peninsula that she began to sculpt in earnest. Toward the end of the millenium the entire family, pots, pans, kids and all moved to live on a remote Island off Weymouth Bay near the tip of the Cape York Peninsula. An act of madness? Yes - but worth every minute!
