The bust of Cassius was also created on request of the artist's husband who had to shave his beard in order to qualify as a model. Gaius Cassius Longinus was a Roman Centurion attached to the garrison at Jerusalem under the command of the Judaean
Governor-General Pontius Pilatus. Longinus was the acting Provost Captain in charge of Jesus' execution at Golgatha 'The Place of the Skull' . Blinded by cataracts in both eyes he regained full eyesight on the same day. The skillfully crafted sculpture is soon to feature on the cover of an occult thriller set in ancient Palestine.
