NAMIBIAN WOMAN
_____________________

Namibia is a land as harsh and inhospitable as it is unique. Less then a million people call Namibia their home and only a few among these - the Bushman and the Bergdama can look back upon successive generations. Namibians do cherish their homeland and
consider it a gift bestowed upon a chosen few.
This sculpture depicts one of the six wives of a Namibian Headman of the Himba Tribe - her eyes downcast as a sign of respect. The pateena used on this sculpture is authentic Namibian Henna polished onto the surface. The head stands 34cm high with felt-trimmed base.
