NOFRETETE
_____________________

also known as Nefertiti was the wife of the Egyptian King Ikhnaton. The most famous of her busts (painted lime- stone) is kept in the Dahlem Museum in Berlin. There is some evidence to suggest that Nefertiti fell out of favour with the Pharao and spent her latter years in 'retirement'
Vonnie's interpretation of Nefertiti does not follow the traditional idealistic principals adhered to by the King's artisans. Her queen's stern face is marked by the travails of high office and the responsibilities that come with it.
This sculpture features a flat back and is is designed to decorate a vertical surface such as a narrow wall.
